LIBRARIES AND ARCHIVES
Libraries
192. The way of life described in these Constitutions requires various aids, one of the most outstanding of which is the library. And so, in each house there will be a library where the works and books of esteemed authors, as well as current periodicals which best reflect the contemporary level of learning, are available.
There will also be a special section in the library for books and periodicals regarding the Order and its specific apostolate.
Archives
193. The Trinitarian family is based on a special fellowship of faith, from of religious life and purpose among all its members: those of the early times of the Order, those who have followed them during the centuries the future.
194. The Trinitarian patrimony, common to and shared by all members, requires that the vicissitudes of the Order, the most notable events of its history, facts related to its religious and apostolic life and undertakings of various kinds be accurately remembered and recorded. These written materials, along with the authentic documents, will be stored in the archives and files of the Order for the benefit of all.
195. Therefore, the archives of the Order are to be kept in the general curia; the archives of the province will be kept in the provincial curia; and each house will have its own archives. Documents will be kept in the archives in an orderly fashion, as well as books written by the Brothers or other books written about the Order, and anything else which should be kept for future reference.
There will also be an index or inventory of documents preserved in the archives, with an accurate summary of the same. The confidential section of the archives will be safeguarded with special attention.
196. Every office or duty shall have the pertinent ledgers, documents and inventory which are to be drawn up according to the directives of our legislation. These materials are to be kept in special files and are to be transferred to the aforementioned archives at the appropriate time.
197. In this way, the archives become a source of unity and a special sign of the oneness of the whole Order. They document a life dedicated to God and to humankind, and stimulate love for a life committed to redemption of humankind and to the glory of the Holy Trinity.
