SISTERS of the most holy trinity

History

The Congregation Sisters of the Most Holy Trinity, also known as the Trinitarian Sisters of Rome, is a Religious Family of Pontifical Rights, affiliated to the Trinitarian Order. Whose purpose is the glorification of the Most Holy Trinity and the Christian education of young girls. The congregation was founded in Rome by Mother Maria Teresa Cucchiari, guided by Fr. Félix of Jesus and Mary, a Spanish Trinitarian living at San Carlino alle Quattro Fontane, they accepted the invitation from Cardinal Marco Antonio Colonna to establish a school in Avezzano (Aquila) for catechizing and imparting some basic education to poor girls of the region.
Mother Teresa was invested with the full habit of the Trinitarian Discalced nuns on September 8, 1762, and took the names of Maria Teresa of the Most Holy Trinity, together with Marianna of the Holy Redeemer and Maria Felice of the Holy Spirit. The Trinitarian Sisters presently 11 houses in Italy. They live the redemptive charism in the school taking care of children and youth most troubled; in helping the educational institutes where they try to develop a solid family pastoral and parishes developing the catechetical work and taking part in its societies. In 1920 they open the first house in USA. Where they began the redemptive mission with the caring for the children of Italian emigrants.
As members of the Trinitarian tradition, they are dedicated to giving glory to the Most Holy Trinity through a unique apostolic ministry. Their U.S. Mother house is located on the property of the beautiful setting of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in Euclid, Ohio. Eucharistically-centered Order embraces the apostolates of elementary education and ministering to pilgrims who visit the Shrine. These activities typify their witness to Christ through setting spiritual captives free by works of redemptive charity. In 1961, the Institute began its missionary activities in Madagascar. Today they have 20 missionary centers and a large number of native vocations. In the schools and dispensaries, they passed thousand of children and families to whom the distribute nutritious and health care and education in the prevention of disease. Beside the catechetical activities the Trinitarian Sisters help in directing different catholic associations, in the case of lepers and together with the Trinitarian priests the prision ministry.
On Dec 1999, the Institute being faithful to the mandate by the Foundress, develop its particular activities in the education of children and young girl in the Philippines. After a long consultation with the superiors, they open the Most Holy Trinity School and the Orphanage located in Victorias City, Negros Occidental.
